Cranes are the workhorses of the port and shipyard worlds. This critical asset has to stand up to years of use in very rugged environments. In order for these machines to stay in top working order, they need to be evaluated from time to time to ensure the structural integrity of the equipment. Our company has an experienced team of engineers who can inspect your equipment for operational performance and integrity. A mechanical/structural engineer physically reviews the crane and generates a report of any issues found along with a plan of action and budget for repair.
Reading Crane and Engineering Co. is certified under the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Regulations of Title 29 to perform inspections and issue certifications on port equipment. We can provide quadrennial and annual load testing of cranes along with inspection services. Our technician will do a thorough inspection of the crane and document any potential issues or problems. Once the inspection is completed and any issues resolved, a final report and certificate are provided showing the crane is in maritime compliance.
Ports and Shipyards use a variety of equipment to keep running. This equipment needs routine and emergency maintenance. Our company can provide both embedded and on demand service and support to help keep your equipment running at the optimum level.

Each project gets a dedicated project manager to make sure that the customer’s project is executed in a safe and timely manner. Project schedules are developed with the customers input and milestones are set. Updates are routinely provided to appraise the customer of project schedule and potential issues.
